WARNING
Fiber cement contains crystalline silica. Breathing in fine silica dust when working with products such as fiber cement, clay and concrete is hazardous and may cause bronchitis, silicosis (lung scarring) or cancer. DO NOT BREATHE DUST! Cigarette smoking increases silica related risks!

WORK SAFELY
Work safely with fiber cement pipes and fittings by following the precautions recommended on this website to minimise dust generation. 

Operators must wear an approved particulate dust mask (respirator) when power tools are used.

  • When using power tools wear approved personal protective equipment.
  • Where possible work in open air or ventilated booth.
  • Warn by-standers.
  • Ensure dust containment during clean-up by vacuum or wet down methods and contain dust for disposal.
  • These precautions are not necessary when stacking, unloading or handling these products.
